This is a non-structured class where athletes can work on their own skills. Staff are on hand to provide supervision.
Open to non-members of Empire Athletics who want to learn skills on a casual basis, and to our own athletes.
Non-gym members under the age of 10 years must be under supervision of a parent/guardian.
Increase your strength and flexibility
Flexibility is not just for flyers! It is important to reduce injury and increase spatial awareness. Flexibility also helps with tumbling and jumps.
In the first half of our flex class, we perform conditioning to increase strength to help with power in jumps and tumbling. We perform exercises that work multiple muscle groups and move onto exercises that isolate specific muscles.
The second part of class is our stretch phase. This isn't a time to relax - we are still working hard! Strength and flexibility go hand in hand. We work to safely increase range of motion. Starting with exercises to stretch out multiple muscle groups, before moving onto isolating muscles.
